
This year the Biloxi Shuckers had to play a series of 54 road games before they finally could play the first game in their new ballpark. It looks like that the Hartford YardGoats may have to deal with a similar fate.
Dunkin Donuts Park may not be ready in time according to developer Centerplan Cos. and its affiliate DoNo Hartford LLC.
DoNo Hartford has informed us that the ballpark may not be ready until late spring and there is a $10 million shortfall, but the Hartford Stadium Authority keeps committed to finish the ballpark in time with no
additional costs.
Despite the warning, the Dono Hartford officials say that they expect to meet the 7 April 2016 deadline.
The Hartford YardGoats will be moving from New Britain where they finished the 2015 season as New Britain RockCats. Their place will be taken by the Atlantic League that is moving the Camden RiverSharks to New Britain where the team will play under the moniker of New Britain Bees. The stadium that the RiverSharks are leaving behind is drawing interest of some affiliated ball clubs.
