Dutchies in the Minor League play offs

The number of Dutchies in the Minor League play offs is getting smaller. Yesterday a limited number was active.

AAA

Sharlon Schoop was responsible for all runs of the Norfolk Tides. In the top of the eight, with runners on first and second, Sharlon hit a line drive for a double to center field, that drove in both runners. Unfortunately the Columbus Clippers were leading 6-0 when Sharlon hit that double. Sharlon went 2 for 4 and struck out once.

A Advanced

The High Desert Mavericks took on the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in the first game of the Sout Division championship series of the California League. In the beautiful Epicenter in Rancho Cucamonga, the Quakes needed ten innings to beat the Mavericks 3-0. Christopher Garia went 1 for 5 for the Mavs.

A Full Season

The Hickory Crawdads advance to the Sally League ‘s championship series. In last night’s game, the Crawdads beat the West Virginia Power with the closest possible margin: 1-0.
The sole run was scored in the fourth inning. Juremi Profar went 0 for 2 but was able to draw a walk.

In the first game of the semi final of the Midwest League, the Peoria Chiefs ended at the wrong side of the score as they fell 2-3 to the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Darren Seferina scored the game tying run in the bottom of the first inning after he had gotten on base on a single towards third base. Trailing 3-1 in halfway the ninth, The Chiefs started what looked like a rally. Kenny Peoples-Walls tripled on a fly ball to right field and scored on Darren’s single to right field. Unfortunately the run production stalled there as the next three batters were retired. Darren went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a stolen base.
