Summing up the Dutchies per MLB organization: Philadelphia Phillies

Unfortunately another short episode of “Summing up the Dutchies per MLB organization”. This time the:

Number of Dutchies: 1

Jiandido Tromp:
Jiandido made his first steps in professional baseball in 2012, after the Phillies signed him in 2011.
In 2012 Jiandido debuted in the Phillies organization with the GCL Phillies on June 18. About two months later he was promoted to the WIlliamsport CrossCutters of the A Short Season New York – Penn League.
In the following two years Jiandido split the seasons between the Lakewood BlueClaws and the Williamsport CrossCutters.
In two seasons with the CrossCutters he batted .275 and with the BlueClaws he hit .144.
Despite his disappointing numbers at A Full Season (Lakewood), the Phillies let him start with the BlueClaws. So far this season he is hitting .204. But in his last ten games his batting average is going uphill. In 37 at bats he collected 12 hits, which equals an average of .324.

On the defensive side of baseball, Jiandido, who is a cousin of Sicnarf Loopstok, is posting a .991 fielding percentage with two errors in ninety-four games.

Despite the fact that Jiandido’s batting average needs some improvement, the 21-year old Aruban got at least one fan in Lakewood, as shown on the photos on the right and on the left. 🙂
