SandGnats to be named Fireflies in 2016

The Savannah SandGnats will move to Columbia SC next season. The team from the owner Hardball Capital, which also owns the Fort Wayne TinCaps and the Salem RedSox and the Chattanooga Lookouts, will be called the Columbia Fireflies.
The New York Mets affiliate will play in Spirit Communications Park in downtown Columbia starting in April, 2016.
The name Fireflies was chosen in a name the team contest in 2014, but the team waited until today to reveal the name, the logo and the team colors. For the change the logos were not designed by Brandiose or Studio Simon but by Sky Design of Atlanta, the same firm with whom Hardball Capital worked on re-branding of the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
In the primary logo you can see the symbol of the state of South Carolina: the crescent moon. Next to the primary and the secondary cap logo and tertiary logo was presented.
The team presented this promotion video today.

The team will sport the following caps, from left to right: Home, Road, Alternate 1 and Alternate 2

A nice twist is that the caps of the Fireflies will be glow-in-the-dark.
