Dutchies in the Minors, May 4

At AAA level no Dutchies saw action. The game in Albuquerque between the Isotopes and the Las Vegas 51s was postponed.
Sharlon Schoop hasn’t played a game with the Norfolk Tides since April 30.

Also at AA level no Dutchies. Some just didn’t play, others are on the DL (Shawn Zarraga and Randolph Oduber).

A Advanced

In the game vs the Lake Elsinore Storm (San Diego Padres), John Polonius was used as a pinch runner in the ninth inning but was caught in a run down at third and was tagged out on a 6-5-2-6 play. His team, the San Jose Giants lost 5-4 to the Storm.

Spencer Kieboom allowed a stolen base to Salem Red Sox’ Sam Travis, but had a good game at bat. He collected two doubles out of three at bats. He drove in one run and drew one walk. Despite his good efforts the Potomac Nationals lost 2-4.

The Daytona Tortugas fell to the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Carlton Daal went 1 for 3 with a strikout. While he was one of the better hitters in the Midwest League, he still has some problems adapting to the level of A Advanced.

A Full Season

The Lakewood BlueClaws were no match for the Savannah SandGnats as they lost 6-3. Even though both teams collected seven hits, Savannah was more efficient.  Jiandido Tromp drew a walk and got one basehit out of three at bats with  an RBI and a run scored. Jiandido showed some speed as he stole two bases.

The Rome Braves outhit the Kannapolis Intimidators 16-12 and beat the White Sox affiliate 10-7. Ozainho Albies had six at bats and collected two hits (one double) with an RBI and run scored. He struck out once. Ozhaino was also the initiator of a 6-4-3 double play.

The Beloit Snappers hosted the Burlington Bees. Shawn Duinkerk collected two hits in four at bats and scored twice in the Snappers 5-3 victory over the Bees.

Darren Seferina and his Peoria Chiefs took on the Clinton LumberKings with Gianfranco Wawoe in their ranks. Seferina went 0 for 4 with a strikeout. Gianfranco Wawoe struck out once and got one basehit in three at bats. Despite collecting one basehit more than the LumberKings (6-5), the team from Clinton won 2-0.
