Mets extend PDC with AA name sake

The New York Mets and their AA farm team, the Binghamton Mets have extended their player development contract (PDC) with another four years. This means that after the current PDC will expire in 2016, the new one will run throug the 2020 season.

Of course the Mets expressed themselves with the usual politeness and blah blah that you always find in press releases like  this: “We are excited to continue our long-standing partnership with the Binghamton Mets, a partnership that works well for both our players and our fans,” said VP of Player Development and Amateur Scouting Paul DePodesta. “Mike Urda and his staff are first class, and we hope to continue to provide them and all B-Mets fans with winning baseball.”

Since their move from Williamsport Pensylvania (then called the Williamsport Bills) in 1992, the team is affiliated with the New York National League franchise.

The following players who played in Binghamton subscribe the long cooperation between the two clubs:

Jason Isringhausen, Scott Kazmir, David Wright, Paul Wilson, José Reyes, Rey Ordonez. and Octavio Dotel, to name a few.
