West Virginia Black Bears release club logo

Today the newest NY-Penn League member, the West Virginia Black Bears released its new logo. Of course the club itself is not new, it only moved form Jamestown NY to Morgantown WV where it will play at Monongalia County Ballpark which it shares with the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The logo shows a black bear, the state animal of West Virginia, on a mountainous back ground. The Black Bears logo was designed by Rickabaugh Graphics. Next to various logos designed for Minor League, NFL, NBA and NHL clubs, Rickabaugh Graphics has designed logos for over 100 universities in the US: Ohio State, University of Wisconsin and University of Texas to name a few.

I like the logo for it’s simplicity. It is not spectacular but it reflects the beautiful nature of West-Virginia.

The club will present the home and road uniforms, on field caps and eventual secondary logos at a later date.
