Memphis Redbirds unveil new logo
You could wait for this after the St. Louis Cardinals bought their AAA Pacific Coast League franchise last year.
The Memphis Redbirds have changed their logo into a more Cardinal like one. I know that I have not been too keen on adopting the parent club’s identity in the recent past, but I think this logo is a major improvement over the previous one.
The name Redbirds already hinted to a cooperation with the Cardinals (since the inaugural season of 1998) but the team’s prevous logo was very dull and did not have much to do with the name of the club.
St. Louis Cardinals President Bill DeWitt III and the Cardinals graphic design team internally created the new color palette and logos, which replace Memphis’ original color scheme from 1998.
The new uniforms will be unveiled during the exhibition game between the Redbirds and the St. Louis Cardinals on April 3 at Autozone Park, home of the Redbirds.
Instead of the name Redbirds, the team will wear the city name on their home jersey as well.
