Mariners in the center of the attention this week
The Seattle Mariners are in the center of the attention this week. Not with thing
s that have to do with baseball directly though.
On Tuesday they announced that they will replace the common light bulbs that light the playing surface with LED lights. LED lights are more durable than regular light bulbs (a longevity of fifty years at least) and they are more engergy efficient (up to 80% over regular light bulbs). By doing this, Safeco Stadium will be the first ballpark in MLB that will be lit by LED light.
Seattle already has a name of being an eco friendly city and this step only contributes to that image.
Another news item about the Mariners is that they will unveil a new alternate uniform tomorrow.
It will be the Mariners’ fifth current uniform, next to the team’s home whites, teal home alternate, road greys and blue road alternate jerseys. No details are available yet. As soon as the new uni is presented I will post pictures here.
