Yomiuri Giants also interested in Van den Hurk

According to Chunichi Sports, the Yomiuri Giants are also interested in Dutch pitcher Rick van den Hurk.
The 196 cm (6 ft 5) tall Van den Hurk is currently pitching for the Samsun Lions of the KBO (Korean Professional Baseball League). This season, Van den Hurk won thirteen games and lost four. He leads the stats of the KBO in ERA (3.18) and strikeouts (180).

Even though Van den Hurk pitched in the Majors for the Marlins and the Orioles, he never had a break through season.

The Yomiuri Giants are owned by the Yomiuri media corporation, one of the biggest media companies in Japan. The company owns two newspapers and a TV channel. The Giants are considered as the Yankees of Japan. They have a very big bank account but do not always spend their money wisely.

Last week some news was published that the current Japanese champion, the Softbank Hawks, have shown interest in Van den Hurk too.
