U21 World Cup: Final roster of the Netherlands

Yesterday the KNBSB (Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Union) announced the final roster that will represent the  Dutch kingdom during the upcoming U21 World Cup in Taiwan.

Four talented players didn’t get permission by their high school/ college to play in Taiwan:

pitchers Jerrison Beaumont and Richard Moesker (both Trinity Christian Academy) and outfielders Rayshelon Carolina (Monroe Community College) and Tivon Faneyte (Christchurch High School)

This team is a mix of players from the Dutch competition and players from the Netherlands Antilles (Curacao and Aruba).

Of the 24-man roster, fifteen are playing in the Dutch competition (written in bold). Nine players are from the Netherlands Antilles. They are playing in local competitions or at US high schools/ colleges (written in Italic)

The roster contains the following players:

Pitchers (10):
Vincent Anthonia (Jackson State University), Tom de Blok (Mr.Cocker HCAW), Reggie Bomberg (Vaessen Pioniers), Bayron Cornelisse (Vaessen Pioniers), Anferney Hoeve (North Central Missouri College), Entwin Reigina (Curaçao), Maikel Rietel (Mr.Cocker HCAW), Scott Ronnenbergh (Vaessen Pioniers), Floris Timmer (DOOR Neptunus) and Kaj Timmermans (Mr.Cocker HCAW).

Catchers (2):
Aldair Adamus (John Wood Community College) and Max Clarijs (Mr.Cocker HCAW).

Infielders(6):
Jorin van Amstel (Mr.Cocker HCAW), Dudley Leonora (St. Maria Pirates), Kevin Moesquit (Mampaey The Hawks), Kirvin Moesquit (Seminole State College of Florida), Cezan Rafaela (North Central Missouri College) and Kevin Weijgertse (Mr.Cocker HCAW).

Outfielders (6):
Milton Croes (Kirkwood Community College), Daniel Fernandes (DOOR Neptunus), Dennis Gustina (St. Maria Pirates), Urving Kemp (DOOR Neptunus), Jules Peters (Mampaey The Hawks) and Steven Wharwood (Mampaey The Hawks).

Staff:
Steve Janssen – manager
Eugene Kingsale – assistent-coach
Wim Martinus – assistent-coach
Martijn Nijhoff – pitching-coach
Pepijn van Ingen – fysiotherapist
Peter Meijers – teammanager
Gijs Selderijk – technical directeur

What surprises me is that there is no player of L&D Amsterdam Pirates on the roster. This club has a reputation of  being a great institurion regarding teaching young players.
