Dutchies in the MLB playoffs: NLCS game 3

          vs

In game three in San Francisco, the score was tied after nine innings, so extra innings were needed.

The team of hitting coach Hensley Meulens took a 4-0 lead in the first inning. But when the game continued, the Cardinals inched closer and eventually they scored the tying run in the seventh inning. Just like John Lackey, Giants’ starter Tim Hudson was tabbed for four runs.

The Giants took off in full throttle. With two outs it didn’t look like that they would have an offensive outburst in the opening inning but Buster Posey hit the third pitch that he saw,  offered by John Lackey, for a linedrive single.  Pablo Sandoval also hit a single followed by a double  to right field to drive in Buster Posey for the opening run. Pablo Sandoval advanced to third. After John Lackey walked Brandon Belt intentionally to load the bases, Travis Ishikawa hit a bases clearing double for the 4-0 lead.

When the score was still tied after nine innings, the Cards didn’t score in the top of the tenth inning. The Giants put runners on first and second in their tenth at bat and when  Gregor Blanco’s sac bunt was thrown past first base by Randy Choate, Brandon Crawford could score the walk off run.
