Rancho Cucamonga Quakes Turn Angels
With the musical chairs going on in the California League, the Los Angeles Angels return to Rancho Cucamonga with their Single A farm team. From 2001 through 2011, the Quakes were an Angels affiliate before they joined forces with the Dodgers. But now the Dodgers will move their Single A team to Ontario, the Angels will return.
This off season, there has been a lot of changes regarding looks, colors, and names, some good, some bad. IMHO the the color scheme the Quakes have adopted, belong in the latter category.

To emphasize their ties with the Angels, the Quakes have opted for red, so this is what you get:
Except for a new alternate logo, the shapes of logos themselves did not change, only the color scheme did. Besides the colors, the uniforms did not change either. The crack, representing the Cucamonga fault, on which the Epicenter is built, that is embroidered on the lid of the cap is still there.
Also the font of the letters remains the same. New is the aforementioned alternate uniform is new. It states Rancho with a halo topping the A. The matching cap sports a Q with a halo on top.
The Quakes made an announcement about the affiliation with the Angels through their Instagram account. Beside showing the history, it shows some glimpses of the new logos:
The movie clip shows the very first uniforms the Quakes sported: White with teal and black accents. Unfortunately it doesn’t show the best unis the club ever had: Sleeveless whites with blue, black, and gold accents. That was during the previous Angels affiliation. When the Dodgers moved in, the Quakes opted to be Dodgerized.
I regret that the club does not return to the looks of the previous Angel affiliation. But of course the club opts for commerce and sales of new merch as it is a major source of income.
