Hardly Transactions For Oosterhout Twins and Amsterdam Pirates

At the end of the transaction period for the 2024 season, it becomes clear that Oosterhout Twins and Amsterdam Pirates are the two clubs with the least transactions.

Yesterday, the Dutch Baseball Hangout reported about four new players for Oosterhout Twins, but Joost Terpstra has decided to stay with Tridents/ Curacao Neptunus.
Other players that will be (re-)added to the roster of Twins are RHP Finn Kops (who was injured) and IF Mick Vos (who didn’t play).

In the past years, Twins has become a steady source of players for Curaçao Neptunus. Two years ago, they lured Dave Jansen away, last year Ryan Huntington left Twins for Neptunus, and this year, Koen Postelmans will leave for Rotterdam. Other players that left  Twins are RHP Filip Capka (back to the Czech Republic), LHP Takuya Fukada (back to Japan), RHP Jeffrey Levenstone (to UVV), LHP Jairo Samboe (Quick Amersfoort), RHP James Scholten (back to the USA), and catcher Yurdion Martie (Amsterdam Pirates).

None of the players of the flagship team of Amsterdam Pirates left. Only a few players of the farm team looked for greener pastures. With the hoofdklasse team in tact, one can wonder why Pirates still acquired some new players.
As written above, Yurdion Martie will join the reigning Dutch champions as he left Oosterhout Twins.  RHP Martijn Schoonderwoerd joins the Amsterdam ranks as he left DSS/Kinheim. Schoonrewoerd will be joined by outfielder Urving Kemp, who played with DSS/Kinheim in 2023 as well.

Maikel Rietel will become the pitching coach but next to that, he will keep playing as well.
