In a press release, multiple Dutch champions, Curaçao Neptunus announced that it reinforced its ranks with outfielder Jiandido Tromp. The 28-year old Aruban will replace Shaldimar Daantji, who hung up his spikes after the 2021 season.

Tromp will leave San Marino, with whom he won the Italian championship in the past season. He was one of the players that carried the team to the championship. As a leadoff hitter, he led his team in base hits, and home runs.
Tromp also played with team Kingdom of the Netherlands during the 2021 European Championship. During this tournament, Tromp batted a decent .333, had a .444 slugging percentage, and a .480 on-base percentage.
At the age of eighteen, Tromp made his first strides in professional baseball in the farm system of the Philadelphia Phillies. He lasted seven seasons at several levels. He played a total of nine games a AAA in which he batted a modest .208. In total, Tromp played over six hundred games at various levels of affiliated ball and posted a lifetime batting average of .248. Tromp also played for the Ottawa Champions in the CanAm League (now part of the Frontier League), where he batted .264.
This winter he is playing in Nicaragua for the Leones de Léon, where he will play with Roger Bernadina, who played for Neptunus last season.
With Tromp, Neptunus caught its first big fish in the off-season.
