After a minor league career with the Phillies organization and one year in Indy ball, Aruban outfielder Jiandido Tromp will head to Europe, Italy to be exact, where he will continue his baseball career.
Jiandido joined the Phillies organization in 2012 when he debuted in the Gulf Coast League before he was promoted to the Williamsport CrossCutters. He worked his way up through the Phillies’ farm system even though he struggled at the plate. His best performance at the plate was in 2013, when he hit .299 during his second stint with Williamsport. This earned him a promotion to the Lakewood BlueClaws.

After the 2018 season, he joined the now defunct Ottawa Champions of the CanAm League, which is now part of the Frontier League. In 2017, 2018 and 2019, he also played some winter ball in Puerto Rico and Venezuela. With the Champions, he batted .264 with seven home runs, two triples, eighteen doubles and fifty-three RBI.
Like most other players, Jiandido did not play in the US in 2020 and likely there was not enough interest in the US for him, so he chose to join T&A San Marino. According to GM Mauro Mazzotti of San Marino, the club will present their new players any time soon.
