A surprising move by French 1st Divisionist Templiers de Sénart. The club in the suburb of Paris signed Dutchie Oliver van der Wijst Severino for the 2021 season.

Van der Wijst played in the Italian Serie A2 in 2020 with Nettuno 1945 BC, helping the club to earn a promotion to the Serie A1. With Nettuno 1945 BC, Oliver batted .391 with 15 RBI on eighteen hits, three doubles and a home run.
With Van der Wijst, the Templars get a player with minor league experience as he played for the organization of the Houston Astros, although he never got further than the Dominican Summer League.
After his return from the Dominican Republic, he returned to Hoofddorp Pioniers for whom he batted .351 in thirty-seven at-bats. Once again he moved to another club after the 2018 season as he joined HCAW from Bussum. He batted .284 in hundred and sixty-two at-bats. Van der Wijst is a utility player that can play most of the infield positions. Speed on the bases is one of his weapons. Next to HCAW and Pioniers, Oliver also played for L&D Amsterdam Pirates and Kinheim from Haarlem.
According to the website of the Templiers de Sénart, Oliver opted for that club because he thinks they have all the qualities to win the various competitions in which they are going to participate. He want to contribute as much as possible to achieve this goal.
