Promotion/relegation series 2018: Game two suspended due to darkness

Silicon Storks wasn’t able to cling on to a 2-0 lead as Kinheim tied the game in the top of the ninth inning. In extra innings, the game was called due to darkness after the twelfth inning.

In the bottom of the second inning, Silicon Storks opened the score. After Gino Gil was hit by a pitch, he advanced to second base on a sacrifice bunt laid down by Tijani Dunlop. Gil advanced to third base on a single by Quinlan de Windt and scored when Runai Coran singled through the right side.

Coran on his turn scored from second base in the fifth inning when Jurriaan Dijk singled down the right-field line. After Kinheim had several chances to score in the second, the third and the sixth inning the team finally came through in the seventh. Thomas Bos drew a one-out walk, stole second base and scored when Wesley van Hemert singled down the left field line. Afbeeldingsresultaat voor Silicon Storks

Kinheim pushed for the game-tying run in the ninth inning. With Jurrian Koks replacing Gijs Timmer and runners on first and second, Sven van der Sanden singled through the left side to drive in Bram Blokker.

After twelve innings neither team had scored and the umpires decided to call the game because of darkness. The game will continue next Saturday right before game three.
