Curaçao Neptunus 8 – 4 DSS
Another easy victory for the current reigning Dutch champion. But DSS did everything inits might to make the life of Curaçao Neptunus as miserable as possible. After Neptunus had taken a 3-0 lead, DSS rallied in the fifth inning to tie the game. But in the bottom of that inning, Storks bounced back and scored five runs to take the lead. But that lead did not last long as HCAW scored two runs to retake the lead. But Storks saved the game as they tied the game at seven in the ninth, so extra innings were needed.
With José Moreno on the mound, HCAW scored four runs to take, what seemed to be a commanding lead. But with Moreno Vork on the mound for HCAW, Storks managed to turn the game around and walk off with the win. Vork loaded the bases and then gave up a grand slam home run to Aldrich Guzman. The lineup of Twins saw the ball well. Mic van de Ven was at a no-hit course for six innings but once again Duco Nuijten spoiled Twins’ party. Last Thursday Nuijten drove in the winning run, this time he broke up the no-hit bid of Van de Ven.
On the pitching of Luuk ter Beek, Twins opened the score in the first inning as it took a 1-0 lead. In the next innings, the club extended the lead as it scored two runs in the third and three in the fourth inning.
