Dutch hoofdklasse club from Hoofddorp, Vaessen Pioniers has improved its bullpen with the signing of former Orioles farmhand Jonatan Isenia. Next to signing Isenia, Pioniers has signed submarine pitcher Jonah van Bemmelen as well.
Jonatan Isenia signed with the Orioles in November 2012 and spent the 2013 season with the DSL Orioles.

In the next two seasons he played for the GCL Orioles. With the latter rookie team, Isenia had 23 relief appearances in which he posted a 3-5 record with a 2.65 ERA. In those two years, Jonatan pitched a total of 68 innings in which he walked 23 and fanned 70.
The 22-year old Curacao native was also part of the Dutch team during the 2013 World Baseball Classic. In two games he pitched 3.2 innings in which he did not allow a run, walked two, struck out three and gave up two hits.
Apparently there was no room for Isenia anymore as he spent most of the 2015 season on the restricted list.
The other pitcher that Vaessen Pioniers attracted is Jonah van Bemmelen. As his name indicates he has a Dutch passport. Born in Port Jefferson NY, the 22-year old is probably signed through the website baseballjobsoverseas.com. The right hander is a submarine pitcher.
Jonah has pitched at Division III level of the NCAA. Furthermore he has some professional experience as he pitched for the Santa Fe Fuegos of the Pecos League.
In the 2015 season, he led his team in games (17) and earned three saves without allowing a run all season. His ERA with the Santa Fe Fuegos was not as impressive: 4.91.
