Twins new member of Dutch Hoofdklasse in 2016
After winning game 1 and 2 of the promotion/relegation series vs Mampaey the Hawks, Twins from Oosterhout (province of North Brabant in the South of the Netherlands) was one win away from promotion to the Dutch Hoofdklasse.

In a game that never really was a game, Twins never really had to flex its muscles. Mampaey the Hawks played like they
never believed in it anymore. The big crowd, mainly fans from Oosterhout, saw a very lopsided game in which Twins beat the Hawks 13-1.
After not having scored in the first ininng, Twins made the first steps towards their promotion in the top of the second inning. With Bob van der Meer and Stijn Jansens at second and first, Branden Kuzyk tripled down the right field line to drive in both runners for the 2-0 lead. Eventually Twins scored one more time in the second inning as catcher Julian Goins threw the ball passed pitcher Enoch Deaton.
In the fourth, Bob van der Meer led off the inning with a single. After he stole second, Stijn Janssens singled to left feild, so Van der Meer advanced to third. Bart Jansen drove in Van der Meer with a single through the right side of the infield.
Branden Kuzyk hit 5-3 ground out put runners on third and second before Bart Hanegraaff tripled down the right field line to drive in Janssen and Janssens.
If the fate of the Hawks wasn’t sealed yet, Twins scored two runs in the sixth and five in the seventh to make in 13-0. After
Hawks scored a run in the bottom of the seventh, relief pitcher Koen Blom was replaced by Remco Gorisse with one more out to go. Gorisse struck out Odeon Gouverneur for the final out.

The Twins players go crazy after the final out
After three years in the Hoofdklasse, Hawks will play at a lower level next year. It is the second year in a row that Hawks will go down to the Overgangsklasse. Last year they were saved by the bell as AdoLakers from The Hague gave up their spot in the hoofdklasse and eventually dissolved.
For the first time since 2004, Oosterhout Twins will return to the highest level of baseball in the Netherlands. The club from the South, played in the Hoofdklasse from 1995 through 1999 and from 2002 through 2004.
