The season is nearing its end. In the minors the play offs have started. In general most of the Dutchies did not fare well with their teams yesterday.
AAA
Sharlon Schoop went 1 for 3 for the Norfolk Tides in a 5-2 loss vs the Columbus Clippers. Sharlon drove the ball towards
center field for a single. As a second baseman Sharlon was part of an around-the-horn double play.
Shawn Zarraga went 0 for 2 with a strikeout and two runners left on base. He also threw out Lewis Brinson of the Round Rock Express at a base stealing attempt. The OKC Dodgers lost 2-1.
A Advanced
Christopher Garia went 1 for 4 in a 9-7 loss vs the Lancaster JetHawks. The outfielder of the High Desert Mavericks struck out once. Christopher singled in the bottom of the first inning and scored the game opener after
two consecutive singles. The Mavericks scored five runs that inning but were not able to hold it in the end. After a 6-3 lead after the third inning, the JetHawks tied the game in the fourth and took a lead in the bottom of the seventh and never looked back.
A Full Season
Juremi Profar and the Hickory Crawdads played their first play off game on the road vs the West Virginia Power. Juremi got one hit out of four at bats and lost the game 4-2. In the top of the fourth Juremi hit a line drive to left field for a single that loaded the bases. The next batter grounded out 4-3 and drove in a run to give the Crawdads a 2-0 lead. But in the bottom of the fifth inning West Virginia Power scored three runs to take a decisive lead.
A Short Season
The game between Danny Arribas‘ West Virginia Black Bears and the Williamsport CrossCutters was postponed due to rainfall.
Advanced Rookie
Jonathan Martijn and his Billings Mustangs have reached the play offs as well by winning their division. Last night they played their first home game of a best of three series vs the Missoula Osprey. The Mustangs won 5-2 but Jonathan didn’t get any playing time.
