Debut of Chadwick Tromp at AAA very satisfactory
Chadwick Tromp had a tremendous debut at AAA level last night. WIth the Louisville Bats, the 20-year old catcher batted
last in the lineup and went 2 for 4 with a double and a two out RBI.
His good performance at bat wasn’t of much help for the Bats as they lost 4-3 vs the Toledo Mudhens in an International League matchup.
Tromp guided his pitchers who gave up four earned runs on eight hits and he allowed one stolen base.
It came as a big surprise when Tromp was called up. He had spent only 24 games at Dayton this season in which his number at bat were rather impressive (.293 with eight doubles and six RBI). Thanks to the call up to the Bigs of catcher Ramon Cabrera, there was a vacant spot on the roster that Tromp could fill.
The first impression at AAA level is a good one for sure.
