US Ambassador will try to get MLB games to the Netherlands

Timothy Broas, the Uniteds States ambassador in the Netherlands, will be backing the efforts to get MLB games to the Netherlands. He said that last Monday during a reception that was organized for the occasion of the MLB Elite Camp for European baseball talents in Hoofddorp (about 15 km South of Amsterdam) at the US Ambassy in The Hague.
Broas, who is located in The Hague since 2014, made clear that he sees it as his duty to support the task force “Amsterdam MLB Series” and to realize a couple of MLB games in Hoofddorp.
Broas hosted the reception that was attended by an MLB delegation with former MLB players like Greg Swindell, Barry Larkin and Steve Finley, all serving as coach during the MLB Elite camp. Also former Dutch team manager and former Yankee shortstop Robert Eenhoorn was invited, next to a youth team of Storks, a The Hague based baseball club. Broas is a big baseball lover.
On behalf of the KNBSB (Dutch baseball and softball federation), general director Hans Meijer told to be glad with the promise of Broas. “The dream of hosting a series of MLB teams is still alive. A thing like that is not easy, is very time consuming and asks for a lot of energy and patience. But it is good to know that a prominent and influencial person like the US Ambassador in the Netherlands wants to help us to achieve this goal.
