It must suck to be a Dodgers fan
The title above doesn’t refer to the team itself. The team will be a contender in the 2015 season for sure. What I am referring to is the TV blackouts that many Dodger fans in the LA area will face this season.
A dispute between Time Warner Cable and several cable providers in the LA area. Time Warner Cable runs the Dodgers’ SportsNet LA channel and is charging a fee of more than $4 a month from Los Angeles cable TV viewers. Several cable providers are refusing to pay the amount to Time Warner Cable, resulting in 60% of the households that cannot see any Dodger game on TV, unless they have MLB TV and a smart TV.
Time Warner Cable has a 25-year deal with Guggenheim Partners, who owns the Dodgers. I hope for the fans that this dispute will be solved soon. It must be pretty lame when you’re not able to see your favorite team on TV. But would they really mind to attend a game at the stadium below?
