KNBSB (Dutch baseball and softball federation) appoints successor of Robert Eenhoorn

The KNBSB has appointed  Gijs Seldenrijk as the successor of leaving technical manager Robert Eenhoorn. Eenhoorn has found a new challenge as manager of soccer club AZ from Alkmaar.

Gijs Seldenrijk is a well known name in the Dutch baseball world. Since 1991 he has worked for the KNBSB in several jobs. Lately Seldenrijk was responsible for the Baseball Academies and he was the spark plug of the European  Coach Clinic.

Last  year, Seldenrijk received the Leen Volkerijk Award for his service and merit for the development of baseball in The Netherlands. He also received the District Administrator Little League Meritorious Service Award for his work for the Little League program. In 1996 Seldenrijk became Dutch champion as part of the coaching staff of Mr. Cocker HCAW from Bussum.

Robert Eenhoorn only has kind words about Seldenrijk. According to Eenhoorn, Seldenrijk has been involved in developing the vision of the KNBSB. With him, this vision and the strategy will remain guaranteed.  “He is an inspired person who lives and breathes baseball and softball. I wish him lots of luck for the future and I am willing to lend my hand if necessary.”

I was a bit affraid that Seldenrijk wouldn’t have the same contacts in the international baseball world like Eenhoorn did, but since he has been working together with Robert Eenhoorn very closely over the last fourteen years, I realize that this fear is unjust.
