More Minor League affiliation news
When I wrote about the affiliation changes yesterday, I wrote: “Here is a summary of the changes (so far).”
In the meantime there have been some more changes and PDC extensions and I found some older ones that I haven’t mentioned in the previous article.
AAA
Minnesota will stay put in Rochester for the coming two years. The RedWings and the Twins are partners for twelve years now.
AA
The Miami Marlins and the Jacksonville Suns signed a two year Player Development Extension.
Both teams are linked to each other since 2009.
A Advanced
The Seattle Mariners decided to leave Adelanto, home of the High Desert Maverick, and go to Bakersfield. Besides the fact that Sam Lynn Stadium is one of the oldest ballparks in the US and it has a rather unique gimmick (the games won’t start before the sun has set behnd the outfield), I wonder if it is an improvement over Stater Bros Stadium. Anyhow, the Mariners commited themselves to the Blaze for the coming two seasons.
Since their inaugural season, the Lake Elsinore Storm has been an affiliate of the Padres. This won’t change for the coming two years. Both parties have signed a PDC extension.

More “news” from the California League. It is not really news, but I bumped into this one. The Lancaster JetHawks will stay with the Houston Astros for the coming two years.
The Royals decided to stay with their A Advanced affiliate the Wilmington BlueRocks. The contract will last through the 2016 season.
A Full Season
The Houston Astros have been quite active. They have extended the PDC with their Midwest League affiliate, the Quad Cities River Bandits for two more years.
In the Sally League (South Atlantic League), the Lakewood BlueClaws have signed a PDC extension with the Phillies through the 2016 season.
The Lexington Legends will stay in the same organization as well. The Sally League team signed a four year extension with the Royals.
The Peoria Chiefs will be a Cardinals affiliate for the coming six years. The current contract ran through the 2016 seaon, but apparently both clubs are very happy with each other, so they extended the extension.
A Short Season
Since the Eugene Emeralds joined the Cubs’ organization, the Padres had to look elsewhere. They found a new partner in the Tri-City Dust Devils. The Padres will stay there through the 2016 season.
In the same league, the Texas Rangers and the Spokane Indians have extended their PDC a few weeks ago. The club that sports a jersey with the team name in the language of the local Salish tribe, will be linked to Texas through the 2016 season.

The new champions of the New York-Penn League, the State College Spikes will remain a Cardinals’ affiliate through the 2016 season.
Rookie
The Royals signed a PDC extension with the Idaho Falls Chuckars, that will keep them with the Pioneer League affiliate through the 2016 season.
In the other Rookie league, the Appalachian League, the Royals also signed a two year extension with the Burlington namesake.
The Milwaukee Brewers will stay in Helena for the coming four year. The namesake of the Milwaukee club is playing in the Pioneer League.
