Curaçao Releases Roster For Copa Americana de Beisbol 2025

Through their socials, the baseball federation of Curaçao (FEBOKO) has released its roster for the upcoming Copa Americana de Beisbol, which will be played from November 13 through November 22.

The roster mostly contains players from the island of Curaçao (not a surprise of course) but it also contains some players form the Dutch mainland.

Not a stranger to the Curaçao national team is Misja Harcksen, but also players like Sedley Karel, Finn Kragt, and workhorse Dennis Burgersdijk are Dutch players on the roster. All aforementioned players are pitchers.

The best known name on the roster is Andrelton Simmons. The 11-year MLB veteran retired from an active pro career, but still plays for the Curaçao national team.

Here is the roster of team Curaçao:

The Copa Americana de Beisbol consists of twelve teams and Curaçao is scheduled in the tough group A ,with the following opponents:
Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Group B contains the following teams: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Panama, and Puerto Rico.

In the opening match of the tournament, Curaçao will face one of the favorites to win the tournament: Mexico. But next to Mexico, one may consider the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Venezuela as favorites to win the tournament as well. And even though Cuban baseball has deteriorated due to the exodus of players to the USA, the Caribbean island is still a dangerous outsider.

On November 14, Curaçao will face the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua on November 15. After a day off on November 16, Curaçao will take on Venezuela in its last match of the round robin on November 17.

The games of group A will be played at Juan Demóstenes Arosemena Stadium in Panama City.
