2025 Belgian Division One: Playoffs, Deurne Routs Hoboken
In the losers bracket, Hoboken Pioneers took on the Deurne Spartans. After a full season of dominance, yesterday’s loss seemed to be a mistake, but today the reigning champions didn’t fare any better.

Deurne Spartans 12 – 1 Hoboken Pioneers
Belgium will get a new baseball champion. Current champion Hoboken Pioneers was routed in the losers bracket by last year’s runner up Deurne Spartans.

After the first inning, the score was tied at one. Hoboken scored its sole run on a single to left field by Dennis de Quint, that drove in Benjamin Goffaux from third base.
in the third inning, back-to-back singles by Raxon Martinez Miranda and Kelvin Delgado, drove in two runs. The third run of the inning was scored in a spectacular way as Kelvin Delgado stole home plate.
After a one-run sixth inning, Deurne blew the game wide open in the eighth frame as Spartans scored seven runs on six singles and a triple.
Hoboken needed four pitchers to get through the game, but none of them was able to limit the offensive aspirations of Spartans.

Cazimir Vandervelden led Deurne’s offense to the victory as he went 3 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Thanks to this win, Deurne advances to next week. They will face the loser of the game between Borgerhout Squirrels and Brasschaat Braves.
