2025 Belgian Division One: Top Four is Set

In the first game of today’s only doubleheader between the Hoboken Pioneers and the Deurne Spartans, Hoboken clinched the victory in extra innings. As a result, the top four of the standings is set.


After trailing most of the game, the Hoboken Pioneers came alongside in the eighth inning when they scored three runs to tie the game at six. In extra innings, both teams scored twice in the tenth inning, but Hoboken dealt the decisive blow as it scored three runs in the top of the eleventh.

With this loss, Deurne cannot surpass the Brasschaat Braves in the standings. So the second game of the doubleheader will be of no importance.

After more than a month of rest, the competition will take off again on August 30. The schedule of the playoffs will be as follows:

August 30:
Game 1: Borgerhout Squirrels @ Hoboken Pioneers
Game 2: Deurne Spartans @ Brasschaat Braves

August 31:
Game 3: Loser Game 2 @ Loser Game 1
Game 4: Winner Game 1 @ Winner Game 2

September 6:
Game 5: Loser Game 4 @ Winner Game 3

September 7:
Game 6: Winner Game 5 @ Winner Game 4
Game 7: : Winner Game 6 @ Loser Game 6 (if necessary: only if the loser of game 6 has lost its first game in that game)

Hoboken will be the team to beat as it lost only one game this year and finishes with an incredible winning percentage of .963, barring the result of the second game of today’s doubleheader.
