2025 Belgian Division One: June 28, Match of The Day
Yesterday, a full round of games was played in the Belgian Division One. The one that caught the eye was the match between the Hoboken Pioneers and the Brasschaat Braves.
Brasschaat Braves 6 – 1 Hoboken Pioneers
Until this weekend, the Hoboken Pioneers were unbeaten but the Brasschaat Braves dealt them their first defeat of the season.

In the first inning, the Braves took a one run lead and never looked back. Harry Deliyannis led off with a single, stole second, and scored on Steven de Lannoy’s single to left field.
Only in the fourth, the Braves added another run when Robin Roevens led off with a homer to left field. In the next inning, Robbe de Boey drew a one-out walk and advanced to third on Harry Deliyannis’ single to right center field. A 4-3 groundout, hit by Steven de Lannoy drove in De Boey for the Braves’ third run.
in the eighth inning, an error by the right fielder allowed the Braves to score twice. In the ninth, Brasschaat scored its final run when Robbe de Boey, who got on base on a double down the right field line, scored on a wild pitch.
What could Hoboken do in return? Not much. Only in the bottom of the ninth, they got on the board when Luis Unda scored from second on Rob Lewis’ single to center field.

Harry Deliyannis earned the win. He pitched eight scoreless innings in which he allowed three hits, walked two and struck out ten. Kevin Desmedt, normally the tower of strength for Hoboken, didn’t have his day. In six innings, he gave up three runs on five hits and three walks and struck out two, to take the loss.
Robin Roevens earned the honor of being the best hitter for the Braves as he went 2 for 5 with an RBI and two runs scored.
The second game of the double header was a win for the Pioneers, as they beat the Braves 6-3.
