Hoboken Pioneers Also Loses Second Game of Baseball European Cup
Alsoi In their second game of the Baseball European Cup, Hoboken Pioneers didn’t manage to win as they fell to the Tenerife Marlins. After eight scoreless innings, the Marlins struck first and decisive.

In the first eight innings, neither team did score, although Tenerife Marlins was rather close in the first inning with a runner on third and only one out. But the team could not cash in as Bebee Brayden struck out the next two batters. Hobken Pioneers never got past first base.

So it came down to the final frame. With Bebee Brayden still on the mound, the first runner was allowed on base on a throwing error. The next batter, Edison Valerio, hit a home run to left field. After Brayden allowed another single, he was replaced by Kevin Desmedt. With Desmedt on the mound, the baserunner, Jesus Ustariz stole second and third base only to be driven in on a single up the middle, hit by Lesther Galvan.

In their at-bat, Hoboken singled twice to put runners on the corners before Luis Unda grounded out 4-3 and drove in Benjamin Goffaux. Dennis de Quint followed with a single through the left side that put runners on the corners again. But when Xander Verspreet grounded out 6-3 the game was over.
Leslie Nàcar was the winning pitcher for Tenerife Marlins. In 8.2 innings he gave up one run on six hits and a walk as he struck out six. Bebee Brayden took the loss. In eight innings and a batter faced, he was tabbed for three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk. He struck out six.
Wander Encarnaciòn was the best hitter for the Marlins, as he went 1 for 3 with one RBI.
