Belgian Transactions For 2024: Namur Angels

On December 15, 2023, the transaction period in Belgian baseball ended. Time to pay attention to the transactions of the various Division 1 clubs. Today we pay attention to the Namur Angels.

The Namur Angels ended the 2023 season in fifth place. According to Ronny Heymans the Angels didn’t make itself heard on the transfer market.

Two players left for the Brussels Kangaroos: Sylvain Demeulder and Cedric Voet. Both players opted to play at a lower level (Division 2). Sylvain only got forty-two at-bats in 2023 in which he managed to collect seven hits (.167). Cedric collected twelve hits in forty-five at-bats (.267). Both players appeared in twenty-one and sixteen games respectively.

Ludovic Geuquet will hang up his spikes. He has played his entire career with the Namur Angels. He will become the manager of the Division 3 team together with Eric Fiquet, a former Angel, who will return to the club to pick up coaching.

Martin Nicolay has returned from the United States of America and likely will join the Angels, even though this has not been confirmed yet.

According to Ronny Heymans, the club will attract an import player.

I would like to thank Ronny Heymans for the much needed information for this blog post.
