During the opening weekend, “Italian” champion T&A San Marino was way too strong for its opponent CSA SRL Torre Pedrera Falcons SC ASD (a mouthful). New import player Dudley Leonora from St. Maarten (Dutch Caribbeans) made his presence felt in both games.
After Leonora was told he would not be selected for the Dutch national team anymore because the KNBSB wanted to rejuvenate, he decided to join T&A San Marino. So far, after two games, it was a good decision as he put up some impressive numbers.
In game one vs CSA SRL Torre Pedrera Falcons SC ASD, a 12-1 win on Friday night, Dudley went 3 for 4 with 4 RBI and a home run.
In the bottom of the third inning, Leonora singled to right field and drove in Federico Celli.
In the fourth inning, Celli was driven in again by Dudley, this time on a single up the middle.
Eventually, in the sixth inning, he homered to left field to drive in Gabriel Eloy Linen Runs.
Game two was even a bigger ass-whooping as San Marino beat their opponent 15-0 in six innings. The second inning was the deal breaker as San Marino scored ten runs. In that inning, Leonora got two at-bats in which he drove in some runs. In his first at-bat, he doubled to left-center field to drive in Gabriel Eloy Linen Runs and Jesus Alberto Ustariz Luis. In his second at-bat of the inning, he singled to center field to drive in Linen Runs once again.
