Marlins to change their logo and colors?

Rumors have been swirling around the last few days. And the added photo are feeding the rumors even more. The Miami Marlins will change their look and their logo(s).

No automatic alt text available.A lot of fans want to return to the old teal and black colors the Marlins wore in the first few years of their existence. It looks like their wish is granted as the logo on this “Spring Training” ticket is teal-ish.

The team from Miami did not unveil the logo officially but this may be a spoiler of what is about to come.

Just before the Marlins moved into their new home, Marlins Park, former owner Jeffrey Loria presented a new logo of which is said he designed it himself. That was back in 2012.

Also, the authority on team logos, Chris Creamer’s sportslogos.net is talking about an upcoming logo change in Miami. This website is always well informed.

This “ticket” was placed on the Marlins website, likely by accident as now the old logo is shown again. Perhaps the “ticket” was placed on purpose as a kind of teaser.

One may wonder if the new logo is an improvement over the current one. But let’s wait until the Marlins officially announce their new logo before we judge.

Personally, I would not mind if the Marlins would return to their old Florida moniker and the logos and colors of their early years. Even though I like the current look, orange and black are already used by other teams. Teal is an original color, not used by other clubs in MLB.

As soon as the Marlins unveil their new look, you will read it here.
