Another food-themed promotion in MiLB
Food-themed promotions are hot. Another club joined a string of clubs who decided to name themselves after food. The next in line is the Wisconsin TimberRattlers who will honor the German heritage of Wisconsin on June 9 when they host the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
Even though it is getting less original when every club is going on the beaten track, the Timber Rattlers name themselves after one of my personal German food favorites: the Bratwurst. The TimberRattlers will name themselves Wisconsin Brats for one night.

The team will wear specially designed jerseys that look like the upper part of the German Lederhosen (leather pants). The look was designed by San Diego-based Brandiose (who else?). The main Brats logo, a hotdog bun filled with a bratwurst covered with sauerkraut and (likely) mustard, will adorn the crown of the cap. The secondary logo will be on the left sleeve of the jersey. On the right sleeve, the cap logo of the Timber Rattlers will be displayed.
The night of June 9 will be full of festivities and surprises and it will be named Bratoberfest. The first 1,000 fans that pass the turnstiles will receive a special giveaway. After the game, the festivities will be closed with a fireworks spectacular.
Fans can buy the special themed jerseys after the game when they are up for auction.
The whole night would be perfect if the team would wear lederhosen pants as well. The Buchbinder Legionäre from Regensburg in Germany have a similar promotion every year in which the uniform completely looks like the Bavarian traditional regional costume.
