In  the 51st (rainouts included) of the tournament, Europe faced the CPBL representatives. In a game that was rather close, Europe showed some resilience as the team managed to stay in the lead after every rally of the Taiwanese.  A solid outing by Marc Habeck was the foundation for the 7-6 win.

With France’s Marc Habeck on the mound, the CPBL took a 1-0 lead. Habeck started the game with hitting Jiang Liang Wei, who advanced on a single hit by Fengjian Ting. Jiang Liang Wei scored to opening run on a single towards first base.

But Europe took the lead when Dudley Leonora hit a two run homerun in the third inning.
With Mattia Mercuri on board (he got on base thanks to a single to the outfield), Leonora slammed the ball over the left field fence for the one run lead.
But in the top of the next inning, the CPBL would tie it all again thanks to a solo homerun to left field hit by Gao Lin.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Dudley Leonora was pretty much clutch again as he drove in a runner from third on a single to first base to give Europe a 3-2 lead again.
After Jesus Ustariz drew a walk, Kyle Pollock hit a fly ball to center field where the ball was bobbled that allowed all runners to score and Pollock to advance to second base from where he scored on Leo Rodriguez hit down the right field line to make it 6-2.

Marc Habeck was pulled at the start of the sixth inning. He was replaced by Alessandro Ciarla. Habeck had a very good outing as he allowed two runs on four hits and struck out six in five full innings.
Despite loading the bases in the top of the sixth inning, Ciarla got out of the inning without any damage.

In the top of the seventh inning Ciarla loaded the bases once again. But this time he did not manage to escape. A bases loaded walk made the Taiwanese inch closer (6:3). For manager Desi Relaford it was a sign to replace Ciarla with Misja Harcksen.
Ciarla allowed one run on two hits and four walks and a strikout in 1.2 innings.
Misja Harcksen did not start well as he gave up two run single to right field that brought the Taiwanese within a run from the Europeans. Eventually Harcksen recorded the final out, but the damage was already done and  Alessandro Ciarla was credited for the runs.
Thanks to a bases loaded wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh, Europe managed to expand their lead with a run.

The CPBL inched closer in the top of the eighth inning again. Misja Harcksen gave up a single and a triple to allow the Taiwanese to score their sixth run. But Harcksen got out of the inning without further damage as he struck out Jiang Liang Wei for the final out of the inning.

In the top of the ninth inning, Misja Harcksen was replaced by Aneres Perez, who retired the side for the save.

Misja Harcksen allowed one run on three hits in 1.1 innings and struck out one.

Marc Habeck earned the win.

Thanks to this win, Europe now has a 4-1-11 record.

Leo Rodriguez was the best hitter for Europe, going 2 for 3 with an RBI and a walk but the most impact had Dudley Leonora who went 2 for 5 with three RBI, two runs scored and a strikeout.

Other hitting results:

Jesus Ustariz: 0 for 1, 2 runs, 2 BB
Kyle Pollock: 1 for 4, 1 RBI, 1 run, 1 SO
Martin Muzik: 1 for 4
Mattia Mercuri: 1 for 4, 2 SO
Federico Giordani: 1 for 3, 1 run, 1 SO, 1 SB
