After two shutout innings in which he earned two saves, the tall pitcher entered the eighth inning for the Adelaide Bite in a game vs the Melbourne Aces. Already trailing 5-1, Van Mil started the eighth inning by giving up hits to Logan Moon and Tanner Vavra of the Aces. A passed ball allowed them to advance to second and third. Then Van Mil gave up a six pitch walk to load the bases. When Trey Vavra hit the ball towards second baseman Travis Demeritte committed a throwing error that allowed Tanner Vavra  and Logan Moon to score. Van Mill got out of the inning without further damage with two runs (one earned) on two hits, one walk and a strikeout.

The Adelaide Bite lost two in a row and fell a bit in the standings as they trail the fourth place Sydney Blue Sox by half a game. The Blue Sox won two games so far this weekend vs the Canberra Cavalry, the team that is on top of the standings in the Australian Baseball League.
