Adelaide Bite add Loek van Mil to roster

The Adelaide Bite of the Australian Baseball League have added Dutch pitcher Loek van Mil to their roster.
The 2m16 (7′ 1″) right hander will use the time in Australia to prepare himself on a new season in the minors, very likely AAA.
At the end of last season, Van Mil signed a deal that brought him back to the Rochester RedWings after ptching the majority of the season with current Dutch champion Curacao Neptunus.
In 2014, Van Mil pitched in Japan for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.
He pitched in the Japanese minors for the biggest part of the year but was called up at the end of the season. In seven appearances, he posted an 0-1 record with a 4.15 ERA. His fastball has been clocked at 98mph.
After Didi Gregorius and Danny Arribas, Van Mil is the third player from the Kingdom of the Netherlands who is playing in the ABL.
The Adelaid Bite can use his help as they are second last in the six team
ABL with a 9-13 record. As a team they have the worst ERA in the league (4.55).
The 31 year old reliever posted a 2-1 record with six saves, an ERA of 0.36 in the regular season of the 2015 Hoofdklasse. He kept his opponents limited to a .078 batting average.
