L&D Amsterdam Pirates attract three new players for 2016

On their website, L&D Amsterdam announced that they have acquired three new players.
Next to the three newbies, a couple of players left the club in a search for greener pastures.
Of the new players that will reinforce the team, two are playing for the national team. Gilmer Lampe and Danny Rombley will reinforce the outfield and add some pop at bat in the lineup. Max Clarijs will return to Amsterdam to replace Bas Nooij behind the plate. Nooij decided to join his former team mates, the De Jong brothers at Quick Amersfoort of the Overgangsklasse (one level underneath the Hoofdklasse = Dutch Major League).
Another player that will leave the club is Roelie Henrique. After seventeen years the outfielder has decided to move to HCAW from Bussum.
By winning the regular season in 2015,Pirates has qualified for the new format of the European Cup. In the new format there will be only one tournament in the first week of June that lasts a week. The best eight clubs in Europe will participate. Pirates has apllied with the CEB to organize the tournament.
The club hopes to announce more about an eventual participation in the ELB soon.
L&D Amsterdam Pirates has set one goal. To win one prize at least.
