Jurrjens invited for Spring Training Camp
Curacao native Jair Jurrjens who signed a Minor League deal with the Colorado Rockies in November, has received an invitation to the Rockies Spring Training Camp in Arizona.
After a long absence he had a rocky start (sorry for the pun) with the Rockies. In two starts he went 0-1 with a 10.61 ERA. After this short stint he was sent down to AAA Colorado Springs (now a Brewers affiliation). It is very likely that Jurrjens will start the season at AAA Albuquerque.
Jurrjens started his MLB career with the Tigers in 2007 before he was traded to Atlanta. With the Braves he had his best years before he was hit by the injury bug. Since 2011 he hasn’t pitched a complete MLB season.
