In a game where both teams showed some flexibility and in which the score moved back and forth, Mampaey The Hawks tied the series at one.
Mampaey The Hawks scored the first run, but trailed 3-1 right away after the first inning was over.
In the next inning, the club from Dordrecht scored four runs on five hits, a sac fly and a walk.
In the fourth inning, DSS tied the score at five again. With the bases loaded, Ryan Miner drew a run scoring walk off Jose Moreno. After Moreno was replaced by Michel Offerman, DSS scored one more run when Mitchell Koot, son of manager Frank Koot, was hit by a pitch.
In the seventh inning, Hawks loaded the bases on singles by Jules Peters, Kevin Moesquit and an intentional walk given up to Steven Wharwood. Then all runners advanced on a balk by Rik Geestman. A single by Joris Naber drove in, what seemed to be the winning run.
Seb Visser scored the sixth run for DSS but that was all there was left for the team from Haarlem.
Mampaey The Hawks used four pitchers. Jose Moreno lasted three innings in which he allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits. He struck out one and walked four. Reliever Michel Offerman pitched in two innings. He gave up a walk and a hit and hit two batters with a pitch.
Kevin van Veen lasted 3.1 innings. He allowed one run on three hits, walked one and fanned one. Henk van Heijningen took care of the final two batters of DSS. Tim Halderman and Ruud Naaktgeboren both grounded out.
DSS manager Frank Koot sent three pitchers to the mound. Jorn van Ingen lasted three innings. He gave up five earned runs on eight hits and walked three. Rik Geestman worked four innings in which he allowed two earned runs on five hits. He also gave up a walk and struck out one. Max Ploegstra gave up a hit in two innings of work and the fanned one.
Once again Jules Peters of Mampaey The Hawks went 3 for 5 and scored a run himself. Shurendell Borgschot was the most effective hitter. With one hit out of four at bats, he drove in two runs.
