Dutchies in the Major Leagues: Monday September 15, 2014
A limited number of Dutchies saw action yesterday. The Dodgers won with big numbers so Kenley Jansen could take a rest. His team mate Roger Bernadina was kept on the bench.
The Red Sox didn’t play, so no Xander Bogaerts either.
Jonathan Schoop entered last night’s game vs the Blue Jays in the ninth as a defensive replacement. He made a force out at second base on a throw by shortstop J.J. Hardy.
Stephen Strasburg pitched seven shutout innings against the Braves. Only when Rafael Soriano entered the game in the ninth, the Braves managed to score two runs. Andrelton Simmons hit two doubles out of four at bats and scored once in the ninth inning.
Didi Gregorius went 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts and three runners left on base in Arizona’s 6-2 win over San Francisco.
