Belgian Division One Transactions For 2026: Borgerhout Squirrels

In the second episode of “Belgian Division One Transactions For 2026” we pay attention to the runner up of the 2025 season: Borgerhout Squirrels.

After a few short chats with Borgerhout Squirrels manager Yannick Gontier, yours truly learned that no players left and no players will come from other clubs to reinforce the ranks of the Squirrels. Even the Japanese shortstop / pitcher, Naoki Kambara, who was a valued addition in the past season, will not return.

One would expect that the team that lost the 2025 championship game by only one run, would look for reinforcements in order to go for the championship next year, but apparently, manager Gontier is content with the roster he guided in the past season.

The intention for the upcoming season is to acquire one or two import pitchers, according to Yannick Gontier.
