2025 Belgian Division One: Playoffs, Braves Advance to Final
In the winners bracket, the Brasschaat Braves hosted the Borgerhout Squirrels at their own facility. The fans saw a dominant Braves team that shoved aside the Squirrels, to advance to the final next Sunday.

Borgerhout Squirrels 1 – 8 Brasschaat Braves
After a scoreless first inning, Brasschaat Braves laid the foundation of today’s win in the second inning. With two outs Matthias De Baets gave up a bases loaded walk that allowed Braves to score the opening run. Still with the bases loaded, Robin Roevens hit toward the shortstop, who committed an error that allowed Harry Deliyannis to score.

In the following three innings, Braves scored at least one run, with the fourth inning as the pinnacle of their offense.
With two outs and runners in scoring position, Christoff Peeters doubled to left center field to drive in two runs. Still with runners in scoring position, Jamie Peeters singled to left center field, to drive in Christoff Peeters and Matthew Joosens.
By the time, the Squirrels got on the board, the Braves had a commanding 8-0 lead. In the top of the sixth, the Borgerhout Squirrels scored their sole run of the game when Jonas Belmans gave up a bases loaded walk. Then, Robbe de Boey was directed to the mound and closed the door for the rest of the game.
Despite giving up the sole run of the Squirrels, Jonas Belmans earned today’s win. In 2.1 innings of relief, he gave up three hits and four walks and struck out three. Matthias De Baets took the loss. In 2.1 innings, he allowed three runs (two earned) on two hits and seven walks, as he struck out two.

Robbe de Boey earned the save after 3.2 innings of work in which he allowed two hits.
With two hits out of four at-bats and a run scored, Harry Deliyannis was the best hitter for the Brasschaat Braves.
As written in the prologue, the Braves advance to the final, next Sunday. The Squirrels still have a chance to get to the finals as well, but first they have to beat the Deurne Spartans in the only game on Saturday. The winner of that game will face the Braves on Sunday.
