Yesterday, yours truly went to the Belgian capital Brussels to attend a doubleheader between the Brasschaat Braves and the Brussels Kangaroos. The Kangaroos base- and softball club is a melting pot of nationalities. The flagship team contains Spanish speaking players, Japanese players and players from Belgium.
Since the baseball field is located at the border of two Brussels submunicipalities and both have a say about the field, the club still doesn’t have a clubhouse. As a result, they are selling drinks from a cooling box and fresh hamburgers from a movable barbecue.
The atmosphere was nice, the people of the club were very friendly. The Brasschaat Braves won both matches. The first one 14-3 and the second one 4-1.
Here is a photo impression of the doubleheader.
