Color footage of All-American Girls Professional Baseball League

How cool is this? Color footage of the AAGPBL. You know… “A League of Their Own” and “There is no crying in baseball.”
The league existed from 1943 through 1954.

It is not clear of which year this footage is. But this is some nice footage, yours truly has never seen before.

I looked around on Youtube and I found a bit more.

  1. The Racine Belles are the team in yellow and I THINK it’s the Kenosha Comets in green. They’re playing at Horlick Field in Racine, Wisconsin, which is still standing.

I visited relatives in Racine a few years ago and was taken to Horlick Field. Some small pieces of the wall surrounding it had chipped off and were on the sidewalk, so I picked up about six of them as keepsakes. No, it’s not Fenway or Wrigley but history is history.
