In the battle for third place, a Spanish team with mainly players from South and Central America and an Israeli team with mainly players from the USA played a crazy and high scoring game in which Spain stayed at the right side of the score. Thirteen extra-base hits led to a 16-11 score.
In the first inning, Israel took a quick lead. Two singles, a walk and a home run drove in four runs. Spain could only score one in the bottom of the inning. In the second inning, it was the other way around as Spain scored four times and Israel just one.
A solo home run, a single, a fielding error, a walk and a double drove in four more runs for Spain in the third inning. Every time Israel appeared to come back in the game, Spain scored runs to stay in the lead. Eventually, a three-run seventh inning was the final blow to Israel as Spain walked off as a victor with a 16-11 win.
Spain collected twenty hits of which four were home runs, one was a triple and two were doubles. Israel collected ten hits: five home runs and a double.
Winning pitcher was Leslie Nacar, who pitched three innings in which he allowed three runs on four hits and two walks and struck out three.
Average wise, Jhonny Bethencourt was the best hitter for Spain as he went 3 for 4 with an RBI and three runs scored. The most runs were batted in by Oscar Angulo, who drove in four and scored one himself.
