Watch Belgium @ the Netherlands here

Today, the Kingdom of Netherlands will take on its neighboring country Belgium in the quarter-finals. Since the 1930s both countries have played games against each other. Belgium won a game or two but in general, the Dutch prevailed. In 1967, Belgium even managed to win the European Championship, when it hosted the tournament. It must be said that the Netherlands and Italy did not participate that year.

Both countries have set the goal to finish with the top five of the tournament. In Jamie Verheyleweghen, Benjamin Dille and Dennis de Quint, Belgium has three players that (have) play(ed) in the Dutch hoofdklasse. Also pitcher Ben van Nuffel played one season in the Dutch hoofdklasse with Oosterhout Twins. One of the Belgian coaches, Kevin Knollenburg, also played in the Netherlands. In 2016 and 2017 Knollenburg was a third-base coach at Oosterhout Twins, the club he managed in 2018, so he should be a valuable source to manager Hendrickx as he knows several of the Dutch pitchers.

The game will start at 15:00 (3 PM CET).
