De Glaskoning Twins finds new hitting coach in Jeffrey Arends
After Shurty Tremus announced he would retire as third base coach/hitting coach because of private reasons, De Glaskoning Twins had to look for a new hitting coach. Recently the club announced their new hitting coach through Instagram.
The new hitting coach is not an unknown person to De Glaskoning Twins. In the 2016 season, he served as their first baseman already.

Jeffrey Arends will reinforce the coaching staff of manager Kevin Knollenburg next to Olaf Tates, who will serve as pitching coach. Arends hit .303 with a .441 on-base-percentage, a .408 slugging percentage, two home runs, and nine doubles during his season with the club from Oosterhout.
Jeffrey broke into the Dutch hoofdklasse in 2003 with Neptunsu from Rotterdam. In 2005 he played for Sparta/Feyenoord but would return to Neptunus in 2006 where he would play seven more seasons before he would jump ships to Kinheim from Haarlem in 2013 where he would play until moving to Oosterhout.
After the 2016 season Jeffrey moved to Hoofddorp Pioniers where he led the team in batting average (.357), slugging percentage (.554) and on-base-percentage (.455). He also committed the least errors of the regulars in the lineup (4) which resulted in a fielding percentage of .984.
Jeffrey has been acquired by De Glaskoning Twins to be their hitting coach, but the two parties are looking if he can fill the void of third base coach as well.
